MONTREAL--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Inerjys Ventures, a $1 billion renewable energy strategic investment fund and global leader in green finance, announced today that it has strengthened its senior management team with the addition of Vincent Martel as a Partner in the firm.

Martel joins Inerjys with 11 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance. At Inerjys, Martel will lead investments into renewable energy technology companies and advise portfolio companies on exit strategy.

Martel spent nine years as a strategic investor within large international corporations and two years providing advice to clients undertaking strategic investment. He has an extensive track record of generating investment opportunities and executing mergers, acquisitions and divestitures with several large multinational industry leaders.

Most recently, Martel worked for AREVA, a global energy solutions company, in Paris where he led acquisitions responsible for AREVA Renewables’ rapid growth in the renewable energy sector. Notably, he led the 49% buyback of Multibrid (an offshore wind turbine OEM that became AREVA Wind), the acquisition of PN Rotor (an offshore wind blade manufacturer that was integrated into AREVA Wind) and the acquisition of Ausra (a solar thermal technology that became AREVA Solar).

According to Inerjys CEO & Managing Partner Stephan Ouaknine, “Vincent’s addition strengthens Inerjys core competencies in helping energy technology companies reach global markets. Vincent’s perspective as a strategic investor at large multinationals will be invaluable as we position Inerjys portfolio companies for exits, and as Inerjys partners with these players on renewable energy projects.”

Martel graduated with honours from HEC Montreal (“Profil Mercure”) and is a CFA charterholder.
